About this ebook
Rosa Parks was widely known for the Montgomery bus boycott. However, there was more to her than meets the eye. In fact, Rosa Parks was a national hero, just like Martin Luther King Jr.. She fought the racial segregation in the United States, because people were judged mainly by the color of their skin. There was definitely a double standard. However, for Rosa was a "double fight." She was discriminated from the white supremacists for being black and discriminated for being a woman from everyone, including blacks. For a black woman was a double edged sword to live during those times of injustice. Rosa Parks had to push harder her civil rights movements and protect both ideologies of equality.
Rosa Parks did not pursue money or fame. She had a modest life, it suited her quiet personality. She lived her life being of service to others, to her family, and to the entire mankind. She was one of those people who changed the United States as a nation.
Rosa Parks helped the African Americans to have equal rights related to work, business and education. As a result of her civil rights activism, in 1964 the Civil Rights Act was passed, a legislation which emphasized on black equality. Without a doubt, Rosa Parks' fight paved the way to a more liberal society.
President Bill Clinton recognized her great merits and awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom in the Oval Office on September 14, 1996. Through all her acts and ideas, she helped make the world a better place.
If you want to learn more about Rosa Parks, who she was as a person, how she lived, and more importantly, how an ordinary person can make a difference and change the world, this biography is for you.

Birth and Childhood (1913-1931)
If most people have to stand up for their rights, Rosa Parks choose the opposite way, to sit down for her rights,
and by doing so she entered in the history books. In the famous episode of the Montgomery Bus, when Rosa Parks refused to give up her place in the bus, marked an important moment in the fight for civil rights. This recognized her as the mother of the freedom movement.
Not many would have guessed that the little girl born in Tuskegee, Alabama on February 4th 1913, would became such an important and easily recognizable figure, a true symbol in the fight of colored people against segregation and injustice.
Rosa Parks was born in McCauley family, her mother was Leona (born Edwards)
