    Second Thoughts

Susan twisted the engagement ring on her finger as she stood and looked at herself in the mirror. The day which everyone had anticipated was finally here, and she couldn’t be more nervous. Susan had to admit, however, that she looked beautiful in her long, while dress. It appeared as if there was a beautiful, but strange young woman staring at her from the other side of the looking glass.

She couldn’t help but also acknowledge all the excitement in the air—making the rounds all over the church. It certainly was prominent in the groom and all the guests, but Susan wasn’t so sure about herself.

The man she was going to marry, Blaine, was very rich. He was also completely wrong for her, and Susan seemed to be the only person who realized this. It’s not like her family wanted her to marry a wallet with legs, but financial security is something which most parents find important.

Susan didn’t even realize that they were at the altar until they started into their vows, and the minister asked if anyone had any objections to Susan and Blane being married.

Wait! a female voice cried from somewhere in the crowd.

Everyone turned their eyes over to see the woman rushing into the building.

Blaine couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Kaitlyn, he whispered.

Susan narrowed her eyes at him. Who was this woman who’d picked such a bad time to crash their wedding?

I can’t let you go through with this, Blaine. You know that your heart still belongs to me!

A sudden silence filled the room, and everyone turned their eyes over to Blaine.

He didn’t like being under such scrutiny from an audience which
