      I adore this series, but had some problems with this entry. Rynan goes from cold to hot very quickly, and I feel like Elana gives him too much of a break. His swing from staying away from her to wanting it all felt a little too quick, somehow, even if he was urged along by Goldie. There's a twist at the end which undoes a very thoughtful discussion the leads had.

      Excellent side characters (Goldie's a hoot), monsters, action, and treasure hunting. Those parts are exciting and imaginative. Rynan's injury issues were well woven into the plot. Elana's an interesting character, too. I hope Rynan makes the future worth her while.
