Beginning Your Journey
Often when we embark on a healing journey, we are starting at our lowest point or from a place where we feel stuck. If this is where you’re at right now, believe me when I tell you that I have been where you are today. I know your life might be hard, maybe even debilitating, but I promise you things will get better. I am on the same journey of transformation you are – I’m just a bit ahead of you on the trip. I’ve learned the hard lessons, travelled the difficult path, and used all the wrong methods, and have written them all down in this book to guide you so you don’t have to struggle as much as I did.
I want everyone to live a happy and fulfilled life from a place of their soul (or highest self). I desire that all people be free from suffering, whether internal or external, so they can stand in their own truth and power and can live as well as contribute their true purpose to the world.
We live in an age now where most people are living their training and not their truth. Training is who we think
we should be based on how we were raised, society, the schooling we have had, and the internal chatter that often overrides our true nature. Many people suffer and struggle in unfulfilled lives because they are either afraid to step into their truth or don’t know how to make that leap of faith. Sometimes they aren’t even aware of what exactly their truth is!
That place of training is very familiar and comfortable for most of us although it does not serve us well. It seems like it takes less effort to go with the flow, but the reality is that drifting through life creates pain and suffering because we are suppressing who we are (our truth) and not bringing that to the world.

Like I said, I’ve been where you are now. I know what it’s like... living in an environment filled with fear, anxiety and overwhelm; never knowing how you’re going to make it to the next day, let alone the next hour or minute.
Stop what you are doing for a moment. Take a long, deep breath, and place your hand on your heart. Do you feel it beating? That’s called purpose and presence. You are here for a specific reason. Do NOT give up on searching for it!
Let’s go on this journey together with a child-like curiosity and eagerness to learn more about ourselves. This is your chance to reclaim who you truly are with my support and guidance- loving, truthful, safe yet bold and fearLESS!
This book is divided into three phases of The Journey: Panic to Presence; Presence to Power; and Power to Purpose. Within each phase, you will find practices and teachings as well as personal examples and stories designed to support you on your own journey.
Please keep in mind that this expedition is not always linear or logical. Each practice is used in conjunction with the others and sometimes, depending where you are in your own journey, can be skipped.
Be gentle and kind with yourself as you proceed. You may find yourself falling back into old ways (your training) and that is perfectly natural. The more your awareness grows and the more you use these teachings, the more quickly you will realize you have taken a wrong turn and you can step back onto the right path.
We are not looking for perfection here. We are looking for self-mastery and tapping into your inner awareness.
Remember that I am here to guide and support you on your journey. If you find yourself lost or on a short cut back to that old place of training, do not hesitate to reach out to me for support.
If you find that you are meeting resistance on your journey that is completely normal. Take a step back and ask yourself why you are feeling that way. Maybe you will need to take a break and come back to the practices when you feel a bit more secure in discovering who you are meant to be. Again, this is also very normal.
With 23+ years of experience in this field, I have supported and empowered similar transformation in hundreds of people just like you.

Release Your Suffering
As we begin our journey, it is important to know where we are starting from. For many of us that starting point is a place of suffering. It can be acute, chronic, or intermittent, and can cause fear-based emotions to surface. It can keep you stuck in fear, anxiety, overwhelm, and uncertainty. Sound familiar? You are not alone.
For the purpose of this book, we will call this point panic.
Panic looks and feels different for everyone. It can cause pain in your life: physical, mental, and emotional. It can keep you stuck in a fear-based place not allowing you to move forward. It can be literal panic that shows up as debilitating anxiety and panic attacks. It can also look like something I call perfection paralysis: you won’t or can’t do anything unless you know you can do it right the first time and do it well.
I personally suffered with very severe anxiety and panic attacks for 27+ years. I literally thought I was dying and going insane. My body started shutting down. I developed very severe physical pain and no one could figure out what was causing it. I was non-functioning to say the least. I could barely take care of myself, let alone my husband and four children. I was terrified and extremely fearful. I feared leaving the house, I feared having to interact with other people, I feared having to drive my car, I feared people knowing what was wrong
with me. Most of all I feared myself. I was firmly rooted in panic mode.
As I began to use the tools and methods laid out for you in this book, my fear and panic began to diminish. Moving forward on my journey, I realized I was not alone. Many people suffer needlessly and are stuck in their own versions of panic and fear.
For example, one of my clients, Brenda, suffered from extreme overwhelm that paralyzed her. She had a very difficult time working and eventually had to quit her job. Her relationship with her husband was pretty much non-existent. It was too much for her to handle. She spent most of her days hiding in her room to avoid him. When they did interact, it was always through fighting and arguing. She was so overcome that she felt the need to isolate herself at all times from everyone and everything. Brenda was barely existing. She, too, like me, was stuck in panic mode.
Another client, Jeff, dealt with that perfection paralysis I spoke of. He would do nothing if he didn’t already know he could do well. This affected his job, relationships, and his daily life. He was stuck and afraid to try new things. He literally refused to do them at all costs. For example, a new girlfriend wanted to go horseback riding for one of their dates. Jeff had never been horseback riding and was embarrassed to tell her he knew nothing about the sport and was afraid to try it. Rather than telling her how he was feeling and his concerns, he just broke up with her so he didn’t have to deal with it. Crazy, huh? This is what can happen when we are sitting in panic land. Jeff also had a bad habit of quitting his job for similar reasons. On one occasion, he was asked by his boss to take a
