Therefore, if you do not know who you are, why you are, where you are and when you are—escaping from the snare of this era will not only be difficult, but will likely leave you in a state of apathy, frustrations, confusion, or tossed to and from by the winds of likes and follow clicks on the social media sphere, and that is not your Creator’s desire and will for you and I.

    Being Grounded - Carolyne Njogu

    Author

    A Word of Encouragement

Growth leads to success. Real success leads to giving. Giving leads to fulfillment—fulfillment of purpose—God’s original intent for creating you. John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son… Even God gave so as to receive you and I back into His Kingdom. If you are not giving, rethink your growth. If you are not growing, consider the possibility that you may be living dead or going through the motions. Living things are meant to have this rhythm—growth and giving!

About 7 or so years ago, I found myself in a state of stupor. During this time, I would wake up each morning with lingering questions that never seemed to go away, Is this all there is to life? and Why am I here? These questions were an assault to my peace, as I did not seem to have the right answers to what was going on inside me. Nevertheless, after many months of solitude reading the Bible, particularly the New Testament, I found myself with a small bound journal where I penned down these questions and trusted to find the answers in the Holy Book. I realize now that I did land in the fulfillment zone—the place of purpose and giving—of giving of myself through service to those around me, and the world at large.

I recall reading Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

After meditating on these scripture, I realized that only sacrificial giving pleases God. In fact, He has already given us a model by giving us His only begotten Son for our sake and salvation. This is the kind of giving that Paul exhorts us to pursue. In this pursuit, however; one may start from a place of ambiguity, but as they consistently apply themselves in this quest they find that a rhythm emerges; where they can decipher what is good, acceptable, and perfect will of God for their life.

To reach this mark of knowing what one was designed to do requires inquisition, curiosity, patience, exploration, openness, learning, risks, willingness to fail, but ultimately, trust in the promise of the scriptures— that; as you endeavor to give God your best—your Self, He will meet you where you are with revelations and truth of what your soul needs and longs for. Reaching God’s best for you is inevitable if you are willing to seek and inquire of Him. As you grow in Him therefore, He reveals Himself to you, and you to YOU—the Christ in you the hope of glory—the YOU that was born to be victorious doing exploits!

To do exploits, you must be willing to take risks. Risk forgetting what you know (in essence, you must empty your old wineskin to put on new wineskin) to inquire of the new from the Father. He, the Father unveils your gifts to deliver to others as you serve them. Jesus exemplified this reality throughout His life. As you do this, you will also discover a sweet spot where you are fulfilled, and in being fulfilled you glorify the Father, and He in turn glorifies you.

Finally, as you read the Book of John, I pray you will find your thirst quenched and your hunger filled. The Father promises to give to those who ask, open for those who knock, and there is finding for those who seek. Years ago, I did not know what to make of my life. I was bewildered by the direction my life was headed. Today, however, I testify to you that I have found the place of my grounding and my call through intimacy with the Holy Spirit. I find that whenever I am engaging in the work, I feel a sense of flow, joy and excitement like a bird in flight or fish in water.

My desire for you is that you too
