About this ebook
The poet recognizes that he and his readers have to answer to God every day, but how to do that is
the key. Are hearts opened in joyful song? Or are the lower depths of society, those that can only cause harm, sought out? In poems such as Job the Man, Chasing After the Wind, and Whats Going On? to name but a few, Mr. Albrittons keen wit, sensitive lament, and defined optimism are clear. In others, such as What Happened to Justice? and A Prayer for Mankind, he continues to boldly clarify todays state of affairs as he sees it, whether good or bad, right or wrong. Whatever your present state of mind, the poems in All About Life, by Johnny Albritton, Jr., have that unique ability to entertain inform and enlighten. Johnny Albritton Jr, grew up in New Jersey, attended Lincoln Tech Trade School, and later served in the United States Navy. An athlete when younger, he earned a four year scholarship to Tennessee State University before enjoying his lifelong self-employed business of appliance refrigeration and air conditioning service. He also enjoys inventing and of course writing poetry from his home in Florida.
Johnny Albritton Jr.
With an intensity of understanding and a straightforward wisdom, Johnny Albritton, Jr. writes poetry that is, indeed, All About Life. In this, his debut collection of published verses, Mr. Albritton examines the spiritual and physical life of man, and how one deals with each from day to day. His poems burst forth with images about everyday life that range in theme from criticizing apathy to celebrating one’s newfound relationship with the Lord. It is not often readers of fine religious poetry get to absorb a man’s vision of the world that is not condescending but uplifting in its intent. Johnny Albritton, Jr. certainly achieves that, and much more. The poet recognizes that he and his readers have to answer to God every day, but how to do that is the key. Job the Man
There was a man who lived in the land, who was wealthy
as could be,
He obeyed GOD’s commands and GOD loved him sobecause he lived righteously,
Job was happy with the accomplishments that he had
made in life,
He had seven sons and three daughters and a beautiful
wife.
Satan came to GOD and said, "Job your servant has givenyou his pledge,
But allow me to break him, then he will curse you, but firstremove your hedge,"
So GOD said go, so Satan took Job’s family and even all his
wealth,
When Job still gave praises to GOD, Satan asked GOD toallow him to take even Job’s health,
Now Job is sitting out on the ground with dust upon his
head.
Even Job’s wife said, "Job curse GOD, you are better off
dead,"
Now here comes three of Job’s so-called friends,
Saying, Job, what have you done? Why don’t you repentof all of your sins?
Job raised his head and then asked, "How can you speak
so bold?
Are you GOD? Were you here? Did you form my soul?"
Job says, "how I long for the months gone by, for the dayswhen GOD watched over me,
When his beautiful lamp shone upon his head and evendown to his
