World's Greatest Artists

About this ebook
I have long loved the symphonic overtures of a brush against canvas. Th e whimsical strokes, the powerful rushes, the soft, immaculate renderings all attract me to a plain of gratitude and memories and wishful fantasies.
To confess, I also wrote this collection of essays as an exercise in intellectual enrichment concerning one of my favorite subjects: great artists. I have traveled throughout the world and visited some of the most fabulous museums imaginable so I may gleam a small portion of the lives of the artists whom I selected for this brief book.
I selected two great pictures for each artists: ie The Straw Hat for Rubens; Fishing Boat on the Beach for Van Gogh; Symphony in White #3 for Whistler; Tobit and Anna for Rembrandt, etc. With each artist I delved into their lives with a specific and original interpretation of why they drew as they did. I also present a brief analysis of the paintings. It would take a reader a lot of research to accumulate what I present in so brief a space.
This childrens book may serve to delight the young reader to learn more of the lives of the artists who had gained fame. The etchings are replicated so the child may draw within and yes, even outside the lines to experience the wonder of reds and greens and blues on an imaginary canvas.
W. J. Schenck
In addition to this book, Walter Schenck has written eleven other books. A detailed study on the Synoptic gospels as well as a two part book on the Vietnam War, and an extensive, dramatically detailed novel about the life of Jesus - as well as all the characters revolving around Jesus’ life him. Shiloh, Unveiled is a vast epic. After reading this 2-part work the reader will walk away with the greatest understanding they can ever attain about the Bible without having to be preached to or sermonize. It is a novel, with themes, plots, counteractions, sub-plots, and majestically drawn characters. It does not take a back step to anyone. Walter has also written a small handbook on the Parables of Jesus with 37 illustrations. He holds certifications in CCNA, MCSE, MCT, MCDBA, ENP, & A+ which led him to write his CCNA book. In Vietnam he was awarded the Bronze Star as well as the Army Commendation Medal. Here are a few comments on The Birdcatcher book: Prof Wilson wrote: “His work is outstanding...He truly succeeds in making one want to know why and what next. He has a power of psychological involvement which is exceptional.” Prof Carkeet wrote: “A breathtakingly good story -- a strong, violent, moving tale set in Vietnam...high quality in style and intellectual intrigue with a visionary streak.” This comment is on Shiloh, Unveiled: “Your work is often of astonishing brilliance...some of the most powerful writing I’ve ever seen in a writer...I would expect you to become a writer of serious note...I am deeply impressed by your book.” And another: “Powerful writing...excellent action writing...amazing talent.”

Concerning Shiloh Unveiled:
It is truly an amazingly good work with impressive writing skills that immediately place it as a valuable work to own. It places Biblical principals and events in a fresh perspective. This is an impressive work that appears to be another Testament. Historically it is an accurate rendering with an incredible spiritual blessing.
Concerning First Voices:
I’ve often wondered what direction a writer such as Mr. Schenck would take after his warrior’s tale. I never expected this spiritual road. His enormous undertaking dazzles me. His venture into the spiritual field of writing is an extraordinary one. His in-depth knowledge and research presents a marvelous and scholarly work in the novel’s vein of story telling. I always thought Mr. Schenk as a brilliant writer – but he is actually more that. He has transcended to a level that only giants can reach.

Antoine Watteau served Louis XIV of France, painted for him in a more refined, more elegant style than France’s previous artists.
He was born on October 10, 1684 in Valenciennes in the Flanders and died on July 18th, 1721.
Watteau, unlike many other great artists, preferred a modest, remote life style. Perhaps due to his sufferings of tuberculosis Watteau personified a lonely existence troubled by depression and contrastingly, by hard work that served to provide him a world of grand fantasy, far removed from his troubles. His inner-world vision, in turn, provides for us wonderful scenes wherein we also desire to reside.
Watteau, in his youth, trained first under Jacques-Albert Gerin in Holland. Later, when he was 17, he continued his tutelage under Claude Gillot in Paris.
Though he did study with famous masters, Watteau’s style reveals how he had
