    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

First, I acknowledge my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me all of my gifts and especially my gift to write His words.

My husband who is always supportive, loving and encouraging me to utilize all of my gifts and talents.  Thank you honey.

To my mother, Dr. Daisy Foree, who is my number one cheerleader and always tells me, hang in there, you can do it.  To my father, Dr. Jack Foree, who is never far away from me in my spirit, heart or face.  I only have to look in the mirror each day to see him.

To Rev. Claude and Mrs. Lillie Royston who support me in everything I do.

To the rest of my family, I love you and thank you for your prayers, support and love.

To my great friend Vanessa Collins who is always encouraging me to write and try new things in my business.  Thanks for being there with me every step of the way.  God brought into my life for such a time as this.  Love you.

To my business Coach, Dawniel P. Winningham, who has challenged me to be better, go further and do more than I ever thought I would in business.

To my BK Royston Publishing, Royal Media and Publishing and Writing Coaching community of authors, graphic designers and future publishers, I thank you and love you.  Let’s go!

    Introduction

In 1994, I went through a divorce while simultaneously attending graduate school.  It truly was the worst and best time in my life.  Fortunately for me, I had the most supportive family ever, great guidance from professors and a part-time job with lawyers.  The lawyers took care of the divorce situation, while I concentrated on finishing my degree.  After graduation in August of 1994, I started doing something that I had never done before; journaling.  Journaling to me was private.  It was the first time that I would put my thoughts on paper and not be judged or have it graded by a professor.  It was freeing and liberating to say the least.  I found a way to release my emotions, express myself with a whole new art form and eventually heal.  Who knew this same girl would come to love writing after my 5th-grade teacher had thrown a handwriting book at me years earlier, and told me that I had horrible handwriting.  I misunderstood what she said, classified myself as a horrible writer and left off the handwriting part.  I spent years not believing that I wrote well enough for a paper let alone a dissertation or more than 35 books. Sometimes you have to prove others wrong by just doing it.  That’s eventually what I did.

Fast forward to 2006.  A new man, new job, new state and new life. It was now time to pull out all of those 80-page spiral notebooks filled with my personal thoughts, feelings and writings to be compiled for the world to see.  Why?  Because God said it was time to write the book.  I thought what book?  He said those notebooks that you’ve been writing in for years; get them out, type them up and compile them into a book.  I didn’t have a clue.  I don’t normally argue with God.  I question, try hard to resist and pray hard about what He said, but eventually, He wins.

It was my first book and it was poetry.  Not a book filled with man-bashing, but the book was filled with heartfelt poetry.  I was proud of it.  I even created a one-woman show around it and combined my music with my poetry and produced a live CD/DVD.  It was my first combined set or bundle of products that I put together.  Oh wow.  People in the audience loved it and received a copy of the book with their entry into the recording which included a dinner buffet.  It was awesome.  I felt like a big-time artist.  Me, a musician and the microphone.  It was raw, up close and personal.

I kept writing and created a devotional book about how much God loves us and 30 ways that He is still loving us with his protection, love and care today.  I was proud of that book as well.  I traveled around the city, region
