PREFACE
As of this writing, my chronological age is 61, but my estimated biological age by telomere length measurement is 33.9.* The patients who follow my advice have no regrets, and they thrive as a result of my recommendations. Health and longevity can only be achieved by treating the body as a whole, honoring its wisdom and focusing on systemic care, rather than depending on reactive responses to disease. Monitoring hormone levels and replenishing them as needed are key to the modality I recommend, in addition to vitamin and nutrient supplements (vitamin B12, folate, vitamin B3, vitamins C, D, and E, magnesium, zinc, and essential fatty acids like omega-3).† Hormones play a key role in activating telomerase, which in turn elongates the telomere portion of our DNA. Telomere length keeps cells healthy and vital, and achieving such health and vitality is the ultimate goal of antiaging and longevity.
In 2009, the Nobel Prize in Medicine was awarded to three scientists (Elizabeth Blackburn, Carol Greider, and Jack Szostak) working in telomere and telomerase research, just as I do. Such like-minded physicians and scientists and I have made progress in that area of research as well, both before and since that time. In addition to Drs. Blackburn, Greider, and Szostak, I wish to acknowledge the work of Drs. Boggess, Brouillette, Kaszubowska, Sanchez, Sheppard, Williams, and Xu, as well as all their teams, for their respective work related to telomeres, telomerase, multivitamins, hormones, etc. Many thanks to all of them; their findings support and validate mine.
I wrote part 1 of this book in order to increase general awareness of my recommended medical method for achieving lasting good health and longevity, including the technology used to employ this method. Please read the introduction, which will explain some of these concepts and terms in greater detail, providing a foundation for a more informed reading of the medical and scientific text contained in this book. (Please note that Pastor Dewey Friedel coauthored part 2 of this book, which contains the spiritual component recommended for overall wellness; part 2 also explores the body-mind-spirit connection.)
Wishing all readers lasting good health and increased longevity! Many thanks for reading this book.

INTRODUCTION
Modern medical modalities and technology allow us to reverse our biological age, thereby extending our life span to at least 120, the age God promised us in Genesis 6:3. If this seems a statement better suited to religion than biology, consider the Nobel Prize in Medicine awarded in 2009. Drs. Blackburn, Greider, and Szostak—the three scientists who received this award—did so because of their research in telomeres and telomerase: simply by supplying telomerase to cellular DNA, physicians and scientists can keep the cells alive forever.
Granted, the technology necessary to introduce the telomerase directly into the human body (as opposed to the cells in a laboratory environment) is many years away. However, the technology that allows scientists to safely use bioidentical hormones to activate and optimize the levels of hormones in the body is already available. Many hormones activate and increase telomerase in our cells. Thus, by keeping some of those hormones at optimal levels, we can regenerate and rejuvenate our aging cells, thereby reversing our biological age. If we can reverse our biological age in this manner, attaining the chronological age of 120 becomes a realistic expectation, not merely a scriptural promise rarely fulfilled.
This may sound too good to be true, but it isn’t. It is simply a biological fact. As we explore telomeres, telomerase, and hormones further, the beauty and simplicity of our human makeup will be revealed. For now, suffice it to say that each individual’s DNA is unique in the history of the universe. Never before was there a creature with our individual DNA, and after we each die, there will never be another creature with our individual DNA, either. This is the science behind law enforcement’s use of DNA evidence in criminal forensics. As far as longevity, health, and wellness are concerned, 120 years is our birthright, by means of God’s promise to us. He put each one of us on this planet for a purpose, complete with that promise of a 120-year life span, so if we don’t make it to 120, it is because we have neglected our bodies and our health.
At this time in human history, we are more intelligent and more useful to society than any prior generation, including our parents’ and grandparents’ generations. That means God’s intention for us to fulfill our purpose is even stronger, and therefore the promise to attain 120 years is that much more likely. Any of us who believe this must also believe that we owe it to ourselves to
