Introduction
These days, bodybuilding information is everywhere.
Building muscular big bodies seems to be the norm, but is that really what you are looking for? And at what cost are you willing to build a big body?
This book looks at the classic Greek God physique, one that is strong and capable of achieving great things.
With big, clunky bodies becoming the norm for good physiques these days, it is important to have an alternative for people that don’t want a big, overly muscular body.
It is important to state that the ancient Greek body is one that was built on hard work and military training.
In addition, the ancient Greeks did not focus on putting in long hours of weight training at the gym every day.
Instead, the ancient Greeks were hardworking warriors and farmers and their bodies reflected that functionality.
The following chapters will discuss how to create a modern-day workout with focus on the old Greek ways of bodybuilding in order to build a healthy, strong body that is more than just a showpiece.
This book will also discuss specific workouts and nutrition plans that will help you achieve your ideal body.
By reading this book, you will discover how important maintaining an overall healthy lifestyle is in creating an ideal Greek body.
In addition, you will also realize how your mental, physical and overall quality of life will greatly improve as a result of developing and maintaining your new physique.
It is important to state that there are plenty of books on bodybuilding on the market, but none are quite like this.
Thanks again for choosing to read this book. Every effort was made to ensure this book provides you with as much useful information as possible. Please enjoy!
Chapter 1: Greek Bodies in Art - Drawings and Statues
In order to truly understand what you are striving for with building a Greek physique, it is important to understand the history behind the ideal Greek body, as it is a rich and vibrant one.
First off, the Greek empire existed from 800 BC to 146 BC, about three thousand years ago.
Even though it was so long ago, ancient Greek culture is still influencing civilizations around the world, including the modern-day health and fitness culture.
A major theme in Greek art throughout the centuries has been to maintain good order and form.
The goal with any piece of art is to draw the eye and keep it by presenting something that makes sense to the eye and to the brain.
By using subjects that have perfect proportions, the human eye will constantly be drawn to looking at a figure, statue or piece of art.
––––––––
These concepts of subjects that have perfect proportions have been reflected in the work of well to do modern artists
When it comes to art and statues, the main focus for the ancient Greeks was to create a human form that was IDEAL and PLEASING to the human eye.
According to the ancient Greeks, the Greek body was considered an ideal standard to the ancient Greeks for a number of reasons.
One reason was that the ancient Greeks wanted to have the reputation of being a strong and conquering society portrayed by an ideal Greek body.
Although modern day Greece is very different today than what it used to be, the ancient Greek empire reached all the way to what is now considered the Middle East.
The ancient Greek citizens were considered some of the most fearsome warriors of their time and war was constantly glorified.
The ancient Greeks were very proud of their society and they expressed it through their art by creating Greek Gods with ideal eye-catching proportions.
The strong and pioneering Greek soldiers’ body became a model as the ideal Greek.
What is interesting and often forgotten in modern society is that the ancient Greeks manufactured these ideal images in the likeness of Gods in which they have never actually met.
Just like in all religions, the idea of God is just that, an idea.
Although Gods are just figures in a person’s imagination, the human mind simply creates an image that it finds appealing and this is something the ancient Greeks were very good at.
The ancient Greeks were very good at developing these ideal Gods that reflected their warrior like society and they were very proud of these ideal Gods.
Although the ancient Greeks creation of Gods and superhuman figures were not born out of reality but out of imagination, the Greeks believed it was their DUTY to uphold and live up
