About this ebook
The Bloodlust Ball has been a gathering event for the various factions of the Carpathian society for as long as Dante has been King. He was born as a Carpathian more than eight-hundred-years ago, and over the last twelve months, he's been preparing to step down as ruler and meet the sun.
Until he discovers his bride amongst the Virgin's - those invited for the enjoyment and pleasure of the highest bidder.
Indigo Fontaine has always been fascinated by all things Gothic, including Vampires. But what will she think when she finds out that there's a very big difference between fact and fiction? Carpathian's and Vampires? Myths and Legends?

The Bloodlust Ball - Melissa Bell
Chapter 1
Indigo Fontaine thought she had to be one of the most unlucky bitches to walk the earth. So far today she’d locked her keys in her car due to the fact that she had a vintage model which didn’t have central locking. She’d quit her job because of Mr. Wankbreak, not his real name of course, as names have been changed to protect the perverts who work at the local hardware store. Indigo’s supervisor, Jeremy was going to report her for not getting down on her hands and knees. She’d told him, If you dropped your safety knife under the racking, then you get down there and get it.
Jeremy had crossed his arms and responded by telling her, If you want to keep your job, then you’ll do as you’re told.
That had been when Indigo started to take off her work apron. Scrunching it up she threw it in his face, saying, You can stick that where the sun don’t shine for all I care. I’m not getting down on the floor so that you can check out my assets.
Jeremy said something as she turned and walked to the locker room to clear out her stuff, but she didn’t bother listening. She was focused on handing Kelly her key and name badge on the way out the door.
That’s when she’d discovered she’d locked the keys in her car. ‘Fucking fabulous end to the day.’ At least she had roadside assistance, right? Wrong, it was more than a year since she’d allowed her membership to lapse. Was it even possible for her day to get any shittier? Frustrated Indigo turned around in a huff and fell back against the driver’s door, her ass hitting it hard enough to threaten a dent. Hearing a familiar click, she pushed herself off of the door, and fist pumped the air when her eyes found the door had unlocked. Shaking her head at how easy it would be for someone to break into it, she thanked God her car was too ancient to warrant a second look. In the five-and-a-half seconds she took to thank the big guy upstairs, the sky chose the exact moment to opened up. ‘Fuck my life,’ Indigo screamed inside her head. Not willing to give Jeremey the satisfaction of seeing her break down emotionally. The asshole would probably take the credit for it so that he could stroke his ego when he was alone in the dark. As the image of that scorched into her brain, she threw up a little bit in the back of her throat… Gag!
She rushed to get inside her little four door sedan. Slamming the door, she started the engine. Putting it into gear, she reversed out of her parking spot. Indigo put the car into drive and coasted past Jeremy Webber giving him the bird. It might not have been much, but she’d take whatever she could get before anything else bad happened.
Indigo stopped at the liquor store on the way home deciding to use the money she’d put aside for petrol to buy herself a couple of bottles of wine. She shrugged, it wasn’t like she’d need the fuel to get to work now that she didn’t have a job to go to. Her mother would say she was irresponsible for a woman her age, but then her mother was off on another one of her soul-searching retreats, so she wasn’t likely to hear about it anyway. At least not until she returned from whichever cult she was involved with now. Indigo rolled her eyes, no wonder she was such a loose cannon. Her mother probably dropped acid when she was pregnant with her and her shitty existence was the result of it. As Indigo unlocked the door to her flat she headed straight for the kitchen to put the wine in the fridge. Growling she stood in the doorway staring at the bench next to the refrigerator, her lip curling in a ‘Motherfucker’ manner. Sitting there in its white plastic bottle was the last of the fresh milk. She’d neglected to put it back in the fridge this morning because she’d overslept and was running late getting to work. Sighing she shoved the two bottles of wine on the bench and went in search of a glass. Fuck the milk, she’d figure that shit out later. She was pretty sure she had a carton of that long life, heat treated stuff somewhere in the cupboard if she decided she wanted tea or coffee bad enough. Indigo poured herself a large glass of wine and started to do the things she normally did on a Friday night only it was Thursday instead. Taking
