      Rex Goodman was your average office joe. He was a hard worker and anything that needed to be complete in a timely manner he was the man to go to. Rex was also the butt end of many office jokes. Several of his colleagues would joke around, exposing a secret he was trying to hide from a particular co-worker. Everyone knew he liked the woman who worked beside him in the cubicle to his left. Dixie Wilson was her name, and she inadvertently turned Rex’s gears every time she gazed at him with her sapphire eyes.

      This year Rex wanted it to be different. He wanted to face his fears and approach Dixie with confidence and ask her to coffee or lunch. However, every opportunity he had he choked up and froze. He knew she was becoming
