I live in a rural area on the fringe of Sydney. My sewing ‘studio’ is in the corner of my loungeroom. The design wall sits next to the fireplace, the cutting table greets you when you turn right from the entrance foyer. You are in no doubt about what enterprise is happening in our house. An IKEA shelf unit holds some (only a small portion) of my stash, the fabrics that I am currently working with. The rest is hidden in a linen cupboard. My Brother sewing machine is always on display, and
