Adam Brown is a Senior Lecturer in Media Studies at Deakin University, Australia, and a volunteer at the Jewish Holocaust Centre in Melbourne, where he initiated the digitization of the Centre’s survivor video testimony collection. He was awarded the Isi Leibler Prize for the best contribution to advancing knowledge of racial, religious or ethnic prejudice in any time or place for his dissertation, and has written widely on Holocaust representation across various genres, surveillance and film, mediations of rape, digital children's television, and gaming cultures.

It does have some good techniques for personal development, but it is not a book about overcoming anxiety and depression using CBT. I'm not even sure the facts are based on scientific research. References are not provided.

While there, he reconnects with his distant step-son and struggles with whether or not to speak at the parole hearing of the man who broke him – an inmate who held him captive in a prison riot for 39 hours. You see, Wes was a corrections officer and a musician, and both were taken away from him that fateful day.
The story begins with Wes’ journey home and, as it unfolds, bits and pieces about that horrific day and its impact on him and his family come to light. The reader gets a glimpse into the aftermath, including how it affected his relationship with his stepson, which is tenuous at best. As Wes grieves and tries to move forward, he befriends a young outsider, a newfound relationship that will change everything.
this is a dark read that will take you on the winding road to redemption. It helps us to understand what happened in regard go race relations and serves. I wish this was still required reading in schools. Can you imagine: a book that was credited by President Lincoln with bringing about the Civil War, and is known to have so affected the hearts of readers that it changed their opinions of slavery is hardly read in the country whose face it changed?I remembered this quote from Uncle Tom's Cabin all of a sudden when I accidentally paraphrased it in a discussion on gun control at school.
