KETO BAKER KICKSTART GUIDE
The keto diet goes beyond just a weight loss and feel good
diet. Several medical conditions such as migraine headaches, Alzheimer’s disease, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, GLUT1 deficiency syndrome, obesity, Parkinson’s disease, autism, some types of cancer, diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), glycogen storage disease, metabolic syndrome (pre-diabetes) and epilepsy are some of the disorders that can be corrected, healed and prevented on the keto diet.
The ketogenic diet remains a low-carb high fat diet. Consequently, we would consider some low-carb/keto ingredients for baking, such as flours, sweeteners, fruits, fats, seeds and more.
Keto Baker Flour Guide
You will have to learn how best to bake with keto flours. As a keto beginner, you will need to start simple, by baking recipes that are previously low carb/keto recipes. Almond Flour
Almond flour is a low carb nut-flour gotten from almonds, and they are loaded with vitamins and minerals, and are very rich in calcium. During production, almonds are blanched and finely ground until a smooth consistency is reached. Blanching almonds involves peeling off almond skins after placing in boiling water for not more than a minute, and then rinsing and draining them. Coconut Flour
Coconut flour is very different from other low carb flours, however, it is high in protein and fiber. The main dissimilarity between low carb flours and coconut flour is the extra amount of moisture it absorbs. For every 1/4 cup of coconut flour in most recipes, 2-3 large eggs are required. Store coconut flour in well lidded containers and place in a dark and cool place.
