    INTRODUCTION

    Surveys are part of an overall very large business called market research and they are one of many techniques used by firms to determine their place in their target marketplace and help them increase their customer count and profits.

    Being paid to participate in surveys is part of today's very popular gig economy, which not only lets people decide what tasks they want to perform each day, but also allows them to choose how many hours and what time of day to work.

    So gigs in general are an excellent way for people in full-time employment to make additional income outside of normal working hours, and just perfect for stay-at-home parents and carers to perform during whatever spare time is available.

    And for some people the gig economy provides a full-time and very generous income, as well as allowing workers to move between income sources, if one gig provider goes out of business, for example, or a new and much-better paying gig opportunity arrives on the scene.
