About this ebook

"Another wonderful Marissa Clarke book full of humor and swoon-worthy romance. Loved every minute!" - Kira Archer, USA Today bestselling author

Helicopter pilot Taylor Blankenship’s time schedule is maxed out. Between his job, his huge, slobbering mess of a dog, and his matchmaking grandmother, he has no time for anyone or anything—especially a woman. If only there was a way to get Grams to back down…

The job of New York City dog walker suits Caitlin Ramos perfectly while she preps for her accounting exam. It’s work that’s steady, scheduled, and requires very little human interaction, which is exactly what she wants. That is until her hot, bossy client—whose Saint Bernard behaves like a lap dog—offers her one more job. But pretending they’re engaged to get his grandmother off his case? Down, boy.

Now Taylor’s offered Caitlin a bargain she can’t refuse. And for the next three days, Caitlin is his fiancée. All she has to do is fake a relationship with Mr. Bossy Pants in front of his entire family, survive their games, and not lose her heart to a guy who’s quickly becoming more than she’s bargained for.

A cute read!Taylor and Caitlin are brought together by a Saint Bernard and a misunderstanding with a family heirloom (and OMG, that floss trick is real! But if you have a giant, flat oval stone, it's not nearly as effective, sadly) and soon they're on their way to a three-day family weekend, fake engagement in tow. Hi-jinks ensue (egged on by aforementioned Saint Bernard and nosy relatives) and of course they're soon becoming more attracted to each other than they'd anticipated going in (which of course was not at all. They each thought the other was attractive, but they "don't have time for a relationship," naturally...)Cute though fairly predictable ending--if you haven't read the first book in the series yet ( Dear Jane ) no worries; this one works well as a standalone. Now, by my calculations, we have at least one more Animal Attractions employee who needs to find an HEA... ;)Rating: 3.5 stars / B-I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Caitlin dropped out of college to get married. It didn't work out and now, older and wiser, she's not ready to trust another man again. Working with her two best friends at Animal Attraction, she is working as a dog walker while finishing her degree. When this story begins, Caitlyn is having the worst day of her life, until she enters her client's apartment to pick up his dog. Beauregard (Beau) is a huge Saint Bernard with an attitude problem. He was being chased around the apartment by his handsome owner, Taylor Blankenship, wearing only a towel. One thing led to another and he and Caitlyn end up faking an engagement for a three day weekend in the Catskills. Taylor is a helicopter pilot working for the Anderson Brothers. He will shortly be moving to Boston for a promotion. He also works crazy hours and does not want a serious relationship. His grandmother has been pestering him to find a woman to have a relationship with. When she mistakenly believes that Taylor and Caitlyn are engaged, they pretend for a weekend at her Birthday Celebration.

I love the humorous and playful way that Caitlyn and Taylor interact. His family has such a great relationship with one another that Caitlyn falls in love with them as well. I do not want to spoil the story for anyone, but the hilarious antics at the Animal Attraction Ball made me laugh out loud. I am so glad that Grams was such a smart lady and was able to see beyond what Taylor and Caitlyn could see for themselves. Taylor's sister Bethany was a hoot. It was a great brother-sister relationship with family bickering and teasing that showed how much they cared about one another. This was a great second chance romance story as well as a story that made you feel good reading it. Besides the short sexual scene, this was good, clean fun and would make a wonderful Hallmark Movie. I requested and received a copy of this book from the publisher, the comments in this review are my own.
