About this ebook
It's interesting to see and experience how kids learn. It's also interesting to develop something that kids enjoy. Mathematics is manmade subject. Some kids get it quickly and some of them don't. When we were in school the learning was more Verbal and now a days it is more Visual. In fact kids are more kinaesthetic and they enjoy doing and feeling something all the time. Due to this some kids don't enjoy school. Math is an abstract topic and it's also challenging to develop interesting activities for math. Traditional Indian math was action based and has few activity based methods. Therefore, I have also included few Vedic methods in this course without referring them as Vedic methods. Because such methods also link to Vedic math, this may help to transition easily to mental math.
If your son or daughter is hyper active then he might enjoy activities more than anything else. Similarly if your kid is Shy then she might want to experience more. Therefore for both such kids, activity based learning is essential. This book is totally activity based and may suit to such kids very well. Every arithmetic operation is done using some activity like drawing or acting. Some of the activities are also paper based. Caution has been taken to ensure that you may cover all the activities with things easily available at home so you need not buy anything specific for these activities.
These methods can be introduced to kids at the age of 6 or more and they cover curriculum till class 3. It is best suited for kids in class 2 or class 3. The book mainly consists of simple and easy methods of addition, subtraction, multiplication and basic division. This book also covers multiplication tables. Addition and subtraction is covered up to 4 digits. Multiplication tables are covered till 10 and multiplication of 2 digit numbers is covered as well. Division by numbers up to 10 is covered.
I am confident that this is fun and joyful journey to all the students and their parents. I wish you all the best for more love towards mathematics.
Gaurish Borkar
Mr. Gaurish Borkar was first introduced to Vedic astrology when he was a teen and got his first degree in astrology when he was just 14. He comes from a traditional family and his grandfather Shree. Haribhau Borkar was well known astrologer from Goa India. Even though Gaurish could not get much guidance from his grandfather as he died when Gaurish was too young, inherited knowledge was always in the blood. Gaurish got guidance from his cousin grandfather for next few years. After practicing Vedic astrology successfully for more than 6 years, Gaurish realized that just ability of accurate prediction is not good enough but ability to provide a solution is more important. Therefore, he started learning various remedial measures like Reiki, gemmology, hypnosis and NLP along with traditional remedial measures. He started his practice of Vedic astrology again after studying various remedial measures for more than 16 years. Now days he enjoys to evolve people and help them to achieve their goals, rather than just predicting their future.

DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to my Grandfather Late Shree Acchyuth Sawaikar. He was ‘Kavya Teertha’ or an expert in studying poetry and a Savskruth scholar. He was a great story teller and we always enjoyed his stories as kids. He always encouraged us to be inquisitive and learn new things. His ability to understand things by asking appropriate questions was surprising. Even though he recently passed away his memories are with me forever.

CONTENTS
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Few years ago, I started conducting courses in Vedic Math. While teaching the course I realized that kids enjoy this as much as I used to enjoy it during my school days. Vedic math is much more mental and abstract and so I take classes of kids older than 10 years. I received many enquiries for younger kids and so I decided to develop something interesting and exciting. After developing the content, I decided to test it on my daughter who was just 6. I want to acknowledge my daughter Swasti for allowing me to test these methods on her and being patient with me while running her through all these ideas and modifying them based on her ability to learn because this increased my confidence by seeing her joy.
