      The word above can be a fascinating one for individuals because it has a myriad of meanings, think about this for a second, what picture forms in your mind when you think about the words Astrology? Do you think about your birthday? Or your love life? Do you cast your thoughts back to the time you felt like certain things happened to you because of your astrological sign?

      Everything you think about astrology is somewhat part of the process as there are several layers to the idea. To explain it in simpler terms, you cannot have a complete conversation about life, finances, relationships, personality, etc. without considering the impact of astrology.

      Astrology is referred to as the study of the influence of distinct cosmic objects over human lives. These astronomical objects are usually the stars, sun, moon and planets as they play a crucial role in shaping people’s personality, romantic relationships, economic fortune and everything else about their existence.

      Someone once said that Life is what we make it, while this statement may hold sway when considering the impact of our personal choices and decisions, we cannot ignore the fact that astrology is a major determining factor as well.

      Everything in the universes is connected and is in relationship with one another; we all know this through the connection between the rain that falls from the sky and the plants that grow bountifully because of it, everything is connected. Astrology is the correlation between heavenly bodies and the events that happen on earth.

      Astrologers combine their scientific knowledge about the cosmos with other aspects such as intuition and man’s psychological nature to create meaning out of events. Astrology also works with energy patterns while being focused on relationships, cycles and patterns that open doors and an understanding into our true psychological nature.

      With astrology we go beyond the surface-level on what we are doing to ask the most fundamental question which is Why are we doing what we are doing? this type of understanding leads to self-acceptance, increased compassion and a sense of meaning in life while embracing the inspiration to evolve with purpose.

      As you can already tell from this brief introduction thus far, astrology is an interesting topic to discuss because it makes you feel like you are looking in a mirror, only this time you don’t get to see what you Want to know, you get to see who you are in the light of your connection with the universe.

      Most people only think about their Sign when the word astrology is mentioned, they are referring to one of the 12 zodiac constellations, of course, your zodiac sign is a massive part of the discourse, but it isn’t the heart of it. To understand astrology, you should be willing to open your heart to the universe and strive to know how it works.

      Astrology is a mix of beliefs or practices that are described as scientific yet factual; it presents divine information about the affairs of human beings and their terrestrial events through the study of movements or positions of celestial objects.

      Astrology also Maps the heavens at the moment of your birth and with that map any skilled astrologer can read the potentials of your life. OBSERVATION and EXPERIENCE are two striking words that remain relevant through the years when discussing astrology because the astrologers rely on what they observe about your birth map and the experience they gained through the years reading the maps of others.

      Over thousands of years, we have discovered that the patterns we see in the night sky are a true reflection of the affairs in the earth or the potential they hold. This also means that there are varying mediums through which these patterns can be unearthed.

      From divination to prophecy, fortune telling and omens, astrology has birthed several mediums such that interpretation is no longer streamlined to one pattern, and all of these contributes to making the discourse an exciting one.

      So now you are wondering, if astrology is real why is your horoscope at the back of the newspaper not accurate? Well you should understand that what you read in the newspaper is not as comprehensive as you expect it to be as it is simply based on one feature, the sign the sun was in when you were born.

      For a more holistic analysis, you would need to get your reading from your accurate horoscope which is not only based on the sun but at least on nine of the other celestial bodies. An account of where you were born on earth, the time and where you are sitting at the moment is also crucial.

      Also, the date, time and location of your birth with your current position will be necessary to drawing and reading the natal map and your horoscope. Now you know why you may not be getting what you seek in the newspaper because the astrologers do not have these personalised details of everyone that reads the paper. You will learn more about zodiac signs in the next chapter and how all of these are connected to your readings.

      The study of astrology dates back to thousands of years, and it all began with man’s realization that we are not the sole architect of our fortunes or misfortunes. We do have a measure of control over our lives, but if we are going to be very successful, we must become aware of the impact of astrology in the fabrics of our existence.

      Astrology isn’t restricted to particular world culture; neither does it have much more significance in one part of the world than another. The reason you may feel like some sects of people have dominion over it is because they actively practice and search for more depth with astrology than others. Regardless of the extent of practice or realization of its importance, one thing is for sure, astrology is a pivotal part of our lives.
