Gabe Sabo loved a lot of things about Connie. Not only was she beautiful, but she had a wonderful heart, a gentle spirit, and a great relationship with Jesus Christ. These were traits he sought in a soul mate. The two met at a church function in 1992 and married in 1995. During this time, Connie was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a host of procedures including mastectomies, reconstruction surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. In You Have Got to Be Kidding Me! Sabo details the journey he took when his wife was diagnosed with cancer. Written from a caregiver's point of view, he shares not only the tough decisions that needed to be made, but he also describes the roller coaster of emotions he experienced as he helped Connie battle the disease.
