    Sam and Jack are trying to move beyond their history of botched relationships, each seeking respite from past emotional turmoil. Sam has returned to the family home and business as she sorts through the shambles of her emotional life and tries to organize options for her future. Jack chooses to vacation in the wintry mountains of Montana with a guided cabin–to–cabin backcountry ski trip, hoping for perspective on his personal and professional life. Neither expert skier is looking for a new relationship. But an avalanche blocks access to the lodge and turns a guided group ski trip into a one–on–one trek. Tension rises between guide and client early on as the forced intimacy of the trip becomes apparent.

    Near disaster almost overcomes the couple but they rise above this challenge, working together to enjoy pristine powder runs and the beautiful scenery that surrounds them. Sexual attraction intensifies and blends with their mutual love of carving through snow-covered glades and around magnificent conifers. They enter an intense physical relationship that compliments their mutual goal to seek more powder and vertical than what typical tours offer.

    But powder and sex aren’t enough to fill each day, and night. As they learn more about each other, their intimacy expands beyond après ski pleasures. Trust and passion are rediscovered as they experience a budding emotional attachment, something that both fear. Sure, the sex is fantastic, but the ski trek is coming to an end; guide and client will be going their separate ways....
