I m now retired and live in the Pacific NW in a little seaside city amongst the giant redwoods and wonderful harbor, almost at the Oregon border. My husband and I have one cat, called Midnight and she is featured in two of my latest Sci-Fi short stories. I love Science Fiction, animals, and trying to help others. I publish under Doreen Milstead as well as my own name. My photo was taken right before the coronation of QE II in the UK.

The Gypsy Cook & the Nobleman
Synopsis: The Gypsy Cook & The Nobleman, is about a pair of young lovers in the Victorian era. The cook notices how unhealthy the young man of the house is becoming and tries to make him feel better by using only fresh herbs and ingredients in her dishes. As she’s doing this, the man’s mother thinks she is performing a spell and attacks her. Little does the mother know that the pair are rapidly falling in love with each other.
Josephine’s ample breast heaved at Edwin's gentle touch. The soft caress of his fingertips over her cheek sent a shock down her spine. She pressed her hands to the wall behind her, feeling the coolness of the stone against her palms.
Neither one spoke a word.
Josephine heard only the crackle of the fire and the pounding of her heart. It raced within her as Edwin’s slender fingers danced upon the thin fabric of her nightdress. It was no longer so crucial that they remain silent or that their lust remain secret, but it took all Josephine had not to squeal out loud with pleasure as Edwin wrapped his strong arm around her waist and pulled her firmly against his hard body.
She could feel his muscled chest against her breast. She tried to be timid but she found her hands had begun to busy themselves with the buttons of his blouse. Soon, she felt her own fingers upon Edwin’s bare skin, cherishing each ripple of muscle and the heat radiating through him.
He kissed her deeply as she felt his hands upon her legs, at the hem of her nightdress. Slowly it slid up her pale thighs and up over her waist. She felt the cold, stone wall against her bare posterior and opened her stance to her lover.
Edwin stared into Josephine’s dark eyes with a piercing gaze. He released the buckle of his thick leather belt and at once had shed his trousers.
Josephine helped him to slide his open shirt from his arms and at last, he stood before her as he had entered the world with the shadows of the fire dancing over his toned body. Though their position was now terribly precarious, knowing that the governess or his mother or any number of his own kin may discover the two forbidden lovers at any time, Edwin did not reveal an ounce of vulnerability.
His every breath was willful and strong. His strong hands grabbed Josephine’s hips and eased her closer to him. Her gypsy blood was stirring. Old, magical songs rang through her mind as she prepared to receive her lover.
She sweated from her arousal. Josephine gasped as Edwin’s manhood first touched her. She bit down on her lip as he entered her and Josephine was in heaven. Her delicate flower opened to receive him as he pushed inside with a slow, smooth, continuous motion; deeper and deeper.
Josephine arched her back to meet her lover’s hips as they pushed toward her.
Edwin thrust into her with a slow gentle rhythm and she responded to each thrust with a quiet gasp in his ear. She had never known such delight. Her entire body trembled with pleasure. Edwin moved faster and faster.
His brow broke with sweat and his breath came increasingly quickly, until he thrust into her as deeply as he could and the lovers climaxed together, Edwin panting and clutching the trembling Josephine in his strong arms.
Edwin had known from the first
