“Smart Kid, Money Savvy” is an exciting and educative collection of money stories which take young readers through a wide range of financial intelligence themes - from making the choice to save rather than spend to the danger in borrowing, debts and loans - even to the benefits of delayed gratification. They get to learn about the beauty of investment, the value of money and the upside of great negotiating tactics. The stories are quite exciting and each of them highlights a strong lesson at the end which kids can pick up and effectively run with.
It is very important to allow our kids learn about money from a very young age, such that they know that no matter how smart they are, they also have to be money savvy. They need to know how to transform value into wealth and how to manage money so that it is able to produce more.
The book has been put together to improve the financial intelligence of kids between ages 6 and 12, a phase in between being the kid and the pre-teen or tween years. The stories have also been illustrated and the highlighted lessons would definitely come in very handy for our young readers. Most of them have been crafted in folklore fashion to make them very relatable.
The writing is clear such that it is engaging and captivating for both the beginner and the more experienced young reader. It is also such that parents are able to use them as resource to encourage financial literacy among their kids and their friends.
Akinola Odunukan
Akinola Odunukan is a trained Computer Engineer, Blogger and Entrepreneur. He is quite passionate about leadership, self-improvement, personal and team development. As one with valuable experience in leadership and a continuous will to keep learning to get better, he started the self-help blog “Motivational Thoughts and Insights” which eventually has become the birth process for two books - this one, “From Chap to Champion” and “The Legendary Warrior Mindset” (2011).
