About this ebook

Every day the small wooden people called Wemmicks do the same thing: stick either gold stars or gray dots on one another. The pretty ones—those with smooth wood and fine paint—always get stars. The talented ones do, too. Others, though, who can do little or who have chipped paint, get ugly gray dots. Like Punchinello.
In this heartwarming children's tale from the best-selling pen of author Max Lucado, Eli the woodcarver helps Punchinello understand how special he is—no matter what other Wemmicks may think. It's a vital message for children everywhere: that regardless of how the world evaluates them, God cherishes each of them, just as they are.
This tale originally appeared within one of the chapters in the award-winning children's bestseller Tell Me the Secrets.

I love the message it has from God. It was a very special book because it is there for all the people who feel unloved. Thank you, Max Lucado.

A profound message and adorable illustrations tell a tale of Punchinello the Wemmick and his encounter with a wood carver named Eli. This is a picture book you'll either want to buy for every baby shower and/or your home library to read with your littles again and again.

I love the message, but I find the illustrations rather creepy. Like the "You are mine" book, lovely and important message, creepy illustrations ...

Stumbled unexpectedly onto this book whilst looking for Max Lucado titles. Saw that it was short and a children's book, so I curiously opened it. Wow - what a beautiful way to convey to both children and adults the fundamental principle that we are special to our Maker and that it's up to us to choose that no one can label us otherwise!

This book changed my life! It has an important message for both kids and adults. Anyone interested in changing the way they see themselves especially in relation to the opinions of others. Whenever people try to make a label stick remember who you are and whose you are and it will fall right off. Great Bible based book.
