Connor Whiteley
Hello, I'm Connor Whiteley, I am an 18-year-old who loves to write creatively, and I wrote my Brownsea trilogy when I was 14 years old after I went to Brownsea Island on a scout camp. At the camp, I started to think about how all the broken tiles and pottery got there and somehow a trilogy got created. Moreover, I love writing fantasy and sci-fi novels because you’re only limited by your imagination. In addition, I'm was an Explorer Scout and I love camping, sailing and other outdoor activities as well as cooking.Furthermore, I do quite a bit of charity work as well. For example: in early 2018 I was a part of a youth panel which was involved in creating a report with research to try and get government funding for organised youth groups and through this panel. I was invited to Prince Charles’ 70th birthday party and how some of us got in the royal photograph. Finally, I am going to university and I hope to get my doctorate in clinical psychology in a few years.

Business Skills - Connor Whiteley
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Thank you to all my readers for their continued support as without you I wouldn’t be able to do what I love.
Introduction
BUSINESSES, I LOVE them.
I love the amazing strategies and mechanisms that businesses have to use to feed and grow.
But this is not a business book about love or how businesses work. Instead, this is a business book on skills that you will need to have in order to survive the business world.
The purpose of this book:
As the author of this book, my mission, my aim is to help you to learn some of the vital business skills you need to have so you can survive the modern-day cutthroat business world.
As without these skills and many others, you will not function or survive for long in the business ecosystem.
Who is this book for?
Truly I believe that this book is for anyone but I will be focusing on employees and employers as the skills included in this book can apply to both.
By the end of this book, both types of business people will be aware of the skill set they need in order to be successful in the business world.
who am i? why listen to me?
WHO AM I?
What right do I have to write this book?
Personally, I find this quite funny because I will fully admit I am no posh rich CEO of a million pounds company. Nor am I a recruitment officer or a worker in human resources for any company.
So what qualifies me to write this book?
I may not have or be the above but I am Connor Whiteley and let me tell you a few things about me:
I did Business Studies at GCSE and top the equivalent of an A.
I did a foundation diploma in Business Studies during my post 16 education and got an equivalent to an A in that qualification whereas everyone else in the school only did the qualification below the foundation diploma.
However, whilst I know that qualifications are important. I know that real-life examples are vital as well.
I AM A BUSINESS OWNER BUT I'LL EXPLAIN MORE IN A MINUTE.
So in addition to my qualifications, I was often a much sort after source of information from the other students and everyone would ask me for help instead of the teacher.
I remember this one time when we were doing our marketing preparation for our exam and this girl said to me after helping her: Thank you. You're always more helpful than the teacher,
In relation to leadership, in my life, I have had a lot of leadership experience. For instance:
I was a young leader in my scout group, so I had to effectively run a lot of activities for a range of ages from 6 years to 16-year-old.
I was often the leader and had to manage people for school projects.
I must show a lot of leadership in my business so I can actually achieve things as I face scepticism often.
I must lead people at university in terms of running activities and helping groups when I go to other schools to do my student ambassador work.
Therefore, I hope in the examples above you can see that I have a lot of leadership experiences.
Finally, a new talent that I recently found is my ability to be a business consultant of sorts
