THE HUN NG SEASON is over, and perhaps things did not go as well as you’d hop d. Many hunters make common mistakes without realising it. Like any other endeavour, a successful hunt is dependent on the effort put in beforeha To ensure a better chance of success,, I follow my own “Top Ten Tips”. Hopefully, these will help you to better prepare for next season.

. If you’re in good physical and mental condition, you will be better up to the task; you will shoot better and enjoy your hunt more. An unfit hunter’s heart rate and breathing are usually laborious after physical exertion – this is not conducive to accuracy. If things go wrong, a wounded animal can run for kilometres or hide in steep and rough areas, and the follow-up can take hours, even days. A hunter has the responsibility to be in shape to deal with such an eventuality. Mental preparation is equally necessary and in this regard, hunters can learn a lot
