Skyrocket Your Memory - Hunter White
Introduction
People think it is impossible to improve our memory. That it is just something you will have to live with for the rest of your life. It is said we only use 7% of our brainpower, and mankind has achieved so much with it, so imagine what we would do even just 20% or even 10%. Just like you have to exercise regularly to make your body stronger, you have to do the same for your mind and memory.
Simple exercises on a regular basis can help improve your memory. The smallest steps can take you the longest way. Our memories are important for humanizing us and making us the compassionate and caring human beings that we are.
There are three types of memories that are in every human’s mind:
Sensory Register
Short – Term Memory
Long – Term Memory
It is a cycle that is repeated every time we experience something, whether it is new or something we repeat. It is a process done to make our minds understand what it is dealing with it. Understanding this process will you figure out how to make information move into your long – term memory, which lasts you pretty much a lifetime. It is a very fast process that happens in the span of 20 minutes, so clutching onto the information can be tricky, but it does not mean it is going to be impossible.
Most of our long – term memories are placed in a deep corner of our mind but can be drawn when needed from your consciousness. To use them, they have to be retrieved from where they are stored. This can be quite problematic at times, and you end up trying to figure out the answer, which is right at the tip of your tongue.
Memory problems can start from anything like forgetting where you put your phone or any major mental problems that can affect your life and ability to function as a human being.
Chapter 1: Human Memory
Humans still try to understand what memory exactly is, how does it actually work, and why does it end up going wrong. It is one of the many things that give us the human quality that makes us unique, yet somehow it is the one that ends up confusing most
