About this ebook
This story describes the climate extinction emergency which inaction by world governments has brought. It begins with college students in 2019 discussing the causes for the catastrophe and possible extreme remedies. The author interrupts the story and guesses that a major hurricane in August of 2020 will occur and the changes it will cause.
The story's hero, Pedro, gets a job with a new US Department of Climate Change. The job takes him away from his college girlfriend Alicia, and to Crabfish Island in the Indian Ocean. There he works on a tethered balloon method for injecting SO2 into the stratosphere to block sunlight and delay global warming as the Citizens Climate Lobby efforts to get legislation to reduce CO2 emissions succeeds. Pedro also falls for Rosalita, marries, has children and grows old.
