    CHAPTER 1

    PRAYING AND PROPHESYING OVER THE HEAD

    THE HEAD REPRESENTS authority and rule. Jesus is the head of the church, the body. The head also represents knowledge, wisdom, the mind, thoughts, and ideas. The gray head represents wisdom. The head can be anointed, lifted, crowned, and covered.

    The mind can be renewed, strengthened, spiritual, or carnal. The mind can be at peace or troubled.

    We can release the word of the Lord upon the head. It is common to lay hands upon a person’s head and prophesy. The following scriptures refer to the head and mind:

    He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

    —DEUTERONOMY 28:44

    And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.

    —DEUTERONOMY 33:16

    And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.
