    1 Introduction to Tarot

    1.1The History of Tarot

Have you ever wondered where tarot cards come from? I will tell you about three different sources, but none of them are confirmed. It would, however, help you understand what tarot cards are about and why they contain such powerful information.

Tarot cards have been fascinating for many people for as long as we can remember. They have also scared many people because there are cards with names such as The Devil and Death.

When people ask for a tarot reading and these cards or The Tower come up in the reading, they get scared and do not want to know anything about the cards. They simply assume that the cards carry bad news, and that those who understand the language of tarot are to be feared.

There are many theories about the origins of tarot cards. I will just tell you about some of them here.

One theory is that the Knights Templar had access to mystical knowledge that they wanted to protect against the Christians. The Knights Templar was a holy order of knights and warriors from around the time of the crusades. Various crusades were launched about a thousand years ago by the Catholic Church who wanted to conquer Jerusalem and free Christians from Muslim rule

It appears that the Knights Templar had access to occult knowledge, or secret knowledge, of many subjects including the Kabala and the Tree of Life. The Kabala is a book of Hebrew teachings that describes the basic truths of the Universe. The Kabala contains information on science, ethics (or the knowledge of what is right and wrong) and the reality of us living on earth.

The Kabala describes a diagram that is called the Tree of Life. This symbol of a cosmic tree or Tree of Life indicates how everything on earth and in heaven fits together, and it is referred to in many different religious traditions.

Apparently, the Knights Templar wanted to find a way to keep all their mystical or secret knowledge. They wanted to have access to it in a way that would be quite visible but at the same time only be available to the initiated, or those who they believed should have the knowledge.

Other people believe that the knowledge contained in tarot was carried forward as part of the Gypsy tradition. The Gypsies
