About this ebook
Four longer short stories involving four very different personalities and problems. Con men. gangsters, policemen and women, very clever children, politicians, the old the young and in between. They all manage to achieve ingenious solutions to seemingly very, very problematic situations they find themselves in.

See my website www.liamleddy.comThe two novels Body Language and Bad Form I have written to date are Glasgow sixties crime fiction. Raw , uncompromising Glasgow sreet crime , warts and all. Twists, turns, surprises and violence abound. In conjunction with my numerous short story collections both sell very well indeed in bookstores and to libraries and of course my readers in general.This month alone, December 2012, I have been filmed by Scottish Television re my work. This will be screened by STV mid January. I have also done telephone interviews for television companies about my work in December together with Library presentations. Looking for more exposure as always particularly to Scottish ex-pats the world over. I believe thoughts will always stray to the land of your birth. Or city of your birth. In this case Glasgow. Beautiful, generous, humour filled and lovable. Also, on occasion, dark and very, very scary.My latest short story collection "Tales of Dedication" is now available on Smashwords together with all my usual outlets. I have always been of the opinion that the short story form is sadly neglected in favour of the novel. Short stories are not short novels and vice versa. How many times have I heard the words he/she has "only written" when applied to the short story author. Not true in my case. And certainly not true with the vast majority of world famous authors. I love to read and write short stories and believe that all libraries are missing out if they do not have a separate section for short story collections and anthologies Just updating my new all smiling photo of me on Smashwords because that`s the one I use on my fabulous brand new website. This new site is so user friendly it confuses me. Not a hard thing to do granted.My first novel Body Language is being re-formatted by my new publisher Authorhouse and will very shortly be available in all major print outlets globallyAs of now Tuesday 23/06/15 my books are available in on request from either Amazon Createspace Authorhouse Barnes & Noble Abe Books Books a Million.... In short almost anywhere globally. My books sell in USA UK Germany Canada Italy and surprisingly enough - to me at any rate - Brazil. Now seeking Scottish expat readers globally and book readers in general who may or may not be familiar with Scotland and particularly Glasgow. Watch my videos on Youtube Stage 32 and VimeoMost readers- because of my neglect in updating my Smashwords bio for so long- will be unaware of how many five star reviews my work is receiving at present. Check them out on my author pages at both Amazon and Authorsden. Then buy them wherever you choose. Smashwords for example. The same books are all here!Check my books out. Recently had six accepted for Premium Catalog. Note the entire Lassiter series to date is now in Premium

Grover Tenby`s mother swore he had been born with it. Mother`s always look for the best in their offspring .
He feels things very deeply mum. Very sensitive my lad, bless him.
Her mother continued to watch MTV. Mrs. Tenby the elder had always liked MTV.
I know love. He`s a good lad. Oh look it`s Status Quo
Mrs. Tenby the younger patted her mother`s shoulder absent mindedly. That`s nice for you dear.
She worried about Grover. Grover always had to have a cause to fight for. Grover`s problem was that he picked causes that no one else thought were causes at all. They simply weren`t interesting causes. So Grover mostly protested about his various issues in solitude. Grover had worked briefly in the menswear department of Marks and Spencers and was a frustrated fashion guru.
His teachers , University professors, neighbours and gradually as the years passed, local policemen and much weightier legal figures , had all tried to dissuade him from his habit of confronting big business and media figures. These big business and media figures didn`t seem to care enough about the impending resurgence of half-inch turn-ups in trouser legs or that braces -suspenders to our American cousins- would need to change back from clip on to button loop meaning huge opportunities in manufacturing for entrepreneurs. After all dedicated desirers of button loop braces and half-inch turn-ups on trousers should be able to locate them under their own steam if they wanted them so much.
It was on a rather nondescript Tuesday morning- not warm, not cold, neither altogether dry nor damp or wet - that Grover met an old man who furnished him with a cause worthy of really getting these people`s attention.
* * *
The old man was the sole member of Grover`s audience that Tuesday morning.
Aye lad. You`ve got something there. I blame the government I do.
In what way sir?
Eh? I just do lad. They`re to blame for everything aren`t they? Everybody knows that
It was like being struck by lightning. The old man was right. Everything WAS the government`s fault. The majority of the government had no idea how to dress properly!
* * *
Come in young man. Come right away in. Sit down .Park it. Take a load off. I`v e got three children myself. Know all the jive talk. Ha. Ha.
Harry Tumm was Grover`s local M.P. Grover wished he wasn`t. Harry was a slovenly dresser.
I`m not happy Mr. Tumm and I feel the government- that is to say the party you represent- is partly to blame for that.
said Grover flatly
Well that`s alright then. Most people blame us for everything.
said Harry cheerfully. Who else is responsible for your unhappiness Mr. Ten- may I call you Grover? I know your mother quite well- yes, ahem. Who else?
Why. The two other parties of course. Parliament in general actually.
Oh. I see. All of us. Well that`s not so bad then is it? If it`s all of us together. Many hands you know. Better chance of getting things sorted out you see. Or fucking them up as you see it lad
What chance do the youth of today have? They have little enough to aspire to. Politicians are totally isolated from them and do nothing to close the gap.
I know. I know. And what do you suggest we do about that young Grover? I`m all ears. Ha Ha.
Actually Harry was all ears. He had very
