Description
Poetry, well what to speak of it?
Is it the art of words or words of art?
When the poet, inspired, does his bit
And arranges into rhymes the chants of his heart
As the thoughts pour in like pleasant rain
Ideas meandering like flowing brooks
As a result of this labor, the world has gained
Just another poem to get us hooked
Scattered thoughts, gathered
To resemble something of a rhyme
Previously spasmodic and so slathered
Now resonating harmony in its prime

Recollections of a Wanderer - The Chanting Soul
prime
The world within
Living too deeply in the world without
The being called human loses sight
Of lofty goals and the seeds that sprout
From within to set the cosmos alight
––––––––
But the ones who dare to lift the first veil
And do the inner work along with the outer
They really cannot ever fail
Despite a million insults and doubters
––––––––
For the world of cause is not outside
No matter how much we deny this truth
The key of destiny is the heart inside
And once its promptings are heard, pointless is all rebuke
So many years of searching
So many years of searching
So many years in pain
In my heart what I found lurching
I thought had all been in vain
––––––––
But just this bright, early morning
Amidst the chirping of my feathered friends
I felt that a new age is just about dawning
That the resetting of time is what God intends
––––––––
Humanity has been given time enough
To make amends for all its ills
But have we not so utterly bluffed
Our exalted privilege of using the will?
Individuality
So long have we been admonished
That to our own selves we must be true
But how to do so when schooling
has abolished
The right to uncover, From others apart, who are you?
––––––––
Conformance to rules is all we're taught
For a good quarter of our lives
And the moment we find that it counts for naught
A new soul educator then arrives
––––––––
To teach us what we should've known all
