Again, another normal day turns bad;
Milldred as usual had set about annoying Matey Mate, bringing up almost daily that she was bored and wanting an adventure. He was about to turn his mind off, a skill he'd perfected over the years, especially whenever Milldred bombarded him with questions. It wasn't necessary this time as Airlee and Indi called to them from the house just before he could tune Milldred out.
Walkies.
Both dogs cringed.
'Walkies' could be occasionally pleasant but was usually extremely distressing; it all hinged on where they went. Besides going for a walk so to speak, there was always something cooking with Indi and Airlee. The girls would dress Matey Mate and Milldred in truly embarrassing outfits. Dogs aren't meant to wear sunglasses with elastic bands attached around their ears to stop them from falling off.
Nor was it acceptable to wear grandmother scarves or brightly coloured bow ties; even more embarrassing was having their toenails painted with colours of the rainbow.
