Do You DIY

Marc Jacobs announces its participation as the latest designer for ’s ongoing 1460 project. The project itself is about creating a redesigned silhouette to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Dr. Martens’s 1460 boots with a different collaborative partner each month. He has referenced the ways in which people have customized the boots over the last 60 years along with the DIY spirit that has run throughout his collections. To that end, the designer has added a range of gold trinkets such as whistles, dice and keys to chains wrapped around the boot. In another notable twist, Jacobs has worked with the vegan version of the boot, featuring a vegan heel loop and design touches such as a dualbranded tongue label and swing tag.
