About this ebook
Being a mom in the military is very difficult because there is always the underlying uncertainty of what the military will bring next. A mom in the military worries about deploying and how her kids will manage once she does. The feeling of guilt emerges for making career choices that take a mother away from her family. In Military and Mindful, mothers in the military learn how to balance their military career and motherhood without the feelings of guilt or stress. Unlike any other resource currently available for active-duty moms, Military and Mindful offers a template to unleashing one’s internal power. In addition to promoting a focused and positive mindset, Benefsheh Verell reveals how harnessing one’s internal power is essential to living a First-Class life.

Introduction
Being in the military is hard. That’s a given. Whatever the reason we sign up, in the end we know that our service will require much sacrifice. If we’ve volunteered to serve when we’re young and single, this may seem exciting and adventurous. The opportunity to travel the world, meet new people, and have new experiences attracts many of us who yearn for something more outside of our hometowns. We may deploy numerous times or the military may station us overseas, but the sense of freedom is still there even though we know we have a commitment and obligation to fulfill.
Then one day we have a family and everything changes. Now what was once difficult but adventurous and fun has become stressful and a source of constant anxiety. How do we manage to raise another human being (which we don’t know how to do) and manage being in the military? Who will watch our baby when we have to go to the field or deploy? What do we do when the daycare calls and says that our child has a fever and we have to come get him right away in the middle of the day? What will our coworkers think of us if we just up and leave or can’t show up to work because our child is
