Introduction
BHEL CRH NRVs, during normal operation are opened fully by a servomotor rotary piston and offer no hindrance to the steam flow. The allowable angle of rotation of servomoter is about 85. In special operating conditions with pressure equalisation, the disc is moved by the piston drive in the closed direction so that it is right in the steam path before the steam flow direction is reversed. This ensures that whenever the steam flow is reversed, the pipe is sealed off by the differential steam pressure and the torque of the servomotor rotary piston.
