AP Language Summer Reading 1. For Faith Reads choose a book and complete one of the Faith Reads activities.

. AND 2a. Your second book for Faith Reads should be a biography or autobiography of literary, scientific, historical or political weight and complete a response form. (These can be found in the LRC or in the class library in P25 see Mrs Morrow) Once again the response should follow the Faith Reads guidelines. OR 2b. For those who are really wishing that they were going to be doing AP Lit next year: Choose a classic and read it for Faith reads, completing an appropriate response. AND 3. Start reading on a regular basis a serious-minded newspaper or a periodical such as Time Magazine, Newsweek, The Guardian Weekly, The International Tribune either online or in print. You must read in English. As you look at the news make sure that you also look at the opinion pages and keep track of the issues currently occupying the columnists attention. Towards the end of the summer select and print two articles voicing different opinions on one issue. Consider their arguments and write a two page response. Write about 500 800 words. Hand both your articles and your response to one into Mrs. Morrow on the first day of class. For the Faith Reads assignment follow directions given by Miss WV on the website. If you choose not to do this assignment and want to sign out of the course you should let Mrs. Morrow know on registration day. Sally Morrow May, 2012
