Budget 2012-13: Education proposals

EDUCATION
Budget 2012 has proposed a credit guarantee fund for education loans.
6,000 schools are to be set up in the 12th year plan. The Budget has also allocated Rs 1000 crore for National Skill

Development Fund

Free and compulsory education to children below 14 years. Programme of mid day meals in schools from Rs 10,380 crores in 2011-12

to Rs 11,937 crores in 2012-13.

Right to Education (RTE)-Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA)have gone up

from Rs 21,000 crore in 2011-12 to Rs 25,555 crore in 2012-13 , a mere increase of Rs 4,555 crore.

For Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA),the

outlays have gone up from Rs 2423 crore in 2011-12 to Rs 3124 crore in 2012-13. Gandhi Scheme for Empowerment of Adolescent Girls, SABLA.

An allocation of Rs 750 crore has proposed for Rajiv

Rs 100 crore has been allocated to kerla agricultural

university and Acharya N G Ranga agricultural university.
