UNIT # Human Life Cycles UNIT AIMS: To understand the cycle of human beings and the process they undergo NUMBER OF LESSONS IN THIS UNIT: 16 NUMBER OF WEEKLY LESSONS: 4 LESSON # #1:What are mammals? #2:Human life cycle #3:Fertilization #4:Review for exam DATE: June 12th 2012 LESSON AIMS: #1: to understand the characteristics of mammals #2: to analyze the process of human life cycle #3: to understand the concept of fertilization #4: to review concepts for the exam ACTIVITIES: RESOURCES: #1: ask the students some different types of - information from internet mammals and what are characteristics of -science book animals that make them classify as mammals. -notebook Then give the qualities of mammals and read -pictures of growth of a baby out loud with students pg 30 and highlight the -pictures of a uterus characterisitcs of mammals #2: ask students about the life process that humans go through throughout their life. Then draw these stages and give time periods for each of these stages and different characterisitcs during the interchange from one stage to another #3: ask students how do they think babies are conceived. Then using their explanation, draw about how an ovary is fertilized and the process of a babies development in the womb of a women at important month during the pregnancy #4: to go over all concepts seen in the last trimester and give questionaire of exam so students can review for the exam ASSESSMENT: -class participation -questions and answers LEARNING OUTCOMES: -students will be able to understand about the animals life and characterisitics af animals and their habitat NOTES: I would like to repeat my lesson plan due to all activities done during the open house I wasnt able to fulfill my objectives for this plan.
