Welcome to the New Year. It was a great honor for me to be crowned Miss Vietnam of Northern California 2000.

Throughout the year, I met many new friends and experienced wonderful memories. I had the chance to participate in various community events such as parades, fundraising, concerts, charities and award ceremonies. Miss Vietnam of Northern California TET Pageant was a great opportunity for me to represent my community. It provided me a chance to learn about my Vietnamese culture, tradition and self. I would like to take this opportunity to once again thanks everyone who supported and guided me through the year, especially the pageant committee, my family and friends. Even though being Miss Vietnam of Northern California 2000 only last a year, I will forever cherish the friendships, experiences and memories. Also, one must remember that a true Queen is not determined by the crown on her head or the sash across her shoulder, but it is the inner beauty, generosity. kindness and gracefulness that she carries in all aspect of her life. "Luck can be as unpredictable as everyone could dear imagine. I was so happy to be first runner-up in the Miss Universe 2002 competition. Three months later, I have the great joy and surprise of becoming panama's very 1st Miss Universe. I just wanted to represent my country and make it pround. And In return, I had one of the most incredible journey of my life. There are so many people to thank. The Miss Universe Organization I am absolutely greatful to all of you. My Family and Friends you are the perfect balance in the foundation that supports me. And finally I thank God for all the blessings He has bestowed upon all of us."
