Eph/Col Fall 2012 Weekly paper example Due: Sept 13, 2012 Katie Bolling Knowledge - wisdom and

understanding - particularly growth and formation in the knowledge of Christ, are highlighted and connected to the salvation, position and function of the church in Ephesians chapter 1. Ephesians chapter 1 indicates (something more strong here?) the importance of growing in the knowledge of God.(note: This was the first topic sentence I wrote, but it wasnt very strong. Wasnt detailed or specific enough. So after writing the next few sentences, I re-wrote the opening topic sentence.) Knowledge of Jesus is the goal for the church for which Paul prays continually (v17). Because the church is in Christ, and because of Christs position, authority, and power (v19-20), her formation in His likeness and understanding of her future is imperative. The churchs future depends on her identity, and Paul connects whom the church is to who Christ is by explaining that He is the head of the church as a body. Even further, the body is the fullness of Christ (v23). (Note: This paragraph can have a few more sentences. My next thought before writing the last sentences of this paragraph is how does the knowledge of God connect to the weighty gospel and the Eph churchs believing and being saved? ...Hmmm... Ill put those things together, write a few more sentences, and be done with this paragraph.
