Structures Team Meeting Summary September 20, 2012 Present: Chelsea Campbell, Nicole Calla, Tammie Stockli, Stephen

Koehn, Sean Chambers, Kristen Dorey, Michael Dumouchelle, Andrew Holland, Stefan Stipp We brainstormed various structures that would support our curriculum and kids elements. There was some great out of the box thinking but no conclusion. Stefan and possibly others will attend the SESM meeting on October 4th to hear what is and isnt working well in SESM. We agreed that we should focus on the following questions for our next meeting: 1. What are our priorities in terms of the curriculum/ kids elements since some elements may contradict others? 2. What would a day or even a week of class in our new program look like from a kids perspective? A teachers perspective? This meeting reminded me a little of the groan zone in the diagram below. What were trying to figure out is messy and there are no easy answers. Whats awesome is that I think we are in fact practicing patience, perseverance and tolerance. I also see the spirit of the four values of participatory decision making in our conversations: Full Participation, Mutual Understanding, Inclusive Solutions, and Shared Responsibility. You are such a delightful group to work with.

Next Meeting: Sometime after the Oct 4th meeting with Pat Horstead.
