INTEGRATED MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS 1 - MGT 6039 Y/MGT 6234
ASSIGNMENT 1 ACADEMIC YEAR 2012/2013 Requirements: You are required to write and present a position paper on a new/innovative/emerging integrated marketing communications concept of your choice. You are also required to provide a motivational statement to justify your choice. Weightage: 15 Marks (15%) Oral Presentation 10 % and Written Report 5% Presentation Date: Week 7 onwards Duration of Presentation: 5 mins Guidelines: Review of a minimum of 10 (ten) relevant journal articles ranging from oldest to latest ones A formal assignment report should be submitted and only typed report will be accepted A penalty of 25% of marks will apply for late submission of formal assignment report. The number of words allowed for the formal report is 3,000 5%. Else a penalty of 10% of marks will apply. Appendices are permitted, but these should only be used to provide supporting information to your main arguments. Proper referencing is essential (Harvard style)

Overall clarity - Clarity of Argument: Clarity of expression Effective use of time - Presentation focuses on the relevant points rather than irrelevant points Kept within allotted time Style o Presentation was enthusiastic and interesting o Spoke in a clear voice at appropriate pace Interaction o Made eye contact with the audience Knowledge, understanding and applications of concepts Stated main points and discussed them in a logical sequence Use of Audio Visual aids appropriately (optional) Analytic ability Accuracy of interpretation Synthesis of material Formulation of ideas Use of arguments Use of resources Clear conclusion Structure and organization Grammar and Spelling Report properly identified: name, student ID, No of words, Year and program/course Footnotes and Bibliography
