Honors Debate Extended Learning Opportunity Debate 2 Podcasts/ Mini- Lessons Podcasts These 2 to 5 minute recorded tutorials will

serve as a constant resource to the Debate participants in the course. Together, you will need to generate a list of need-to-knows for Debate 1 participants concerning theory, strategy, rhetoric/ debate elements, etc. All podcast need to be researched, scripted, practices, and revised before formal publication to Edmodo. You will be responsible for making two podcasts this year. Mini-Lessons You will be in charge of introducing/ teaching some of the basic elements of speech and debate. These can be the very same topics above; however, these mini lessons must be put into lesson plan format and accompanied with supplements such as media, handouts, and activities. These mini-lessons should not exceed 30 minutes. You will need to consult the schedule and me when planning your lessons. You will be responsible for two lessons this year. Utilize teaching resources such as teachingchannel.org, NCTE website, and ReadWriteThink website will make this task easier as you plan your lesson. Feel free to consult any of my resources I have available at school. Lesson plans must be approved a week prior to presenting to your peers.
