    THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME Suggestions on how to read the book

    1. Introduction 00:07 a.m The dog was lying on the grass in the middle of the lawn in front of Mrs. Shearss house. Its eyes were closed. () The dog was dead. There was a garden fork sticking out of the dog. 2. Vocabulary Note down any new vocabulary on your vocabulary notebook. For example: muzzle, poodle, housecoat and their translation (bata for instance). 3. Language

    Choose any colloquial language or expressions that you like (Let go of the fucking dog for Christs sake). 4. Characters Write down a list of characters as you meet them. Adding a short description to remind you of who the character is may help. e.g. Mrs. Shears Christophers neighbour, friend and the dogs owner. 5. Narrator 1st person narrator named Christopher John Francis Boone - a 15-year-old teenager. 6. Cultural corner The Hound of the Baskervilles is a book by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. 7. Getting started... What does Christopher think about the following? The Milky Way. Prime Numbers. Jokes. Metaphors. Lies. Students with difficulties and people with special needs. Heaven / religion. His mums death of a heart attack.

    Try to solve it while reading the book and note it down carefully. It will be useful for your exam and to achieve a better reading comprehension. 8. The 2 big mysteries a) What sort of person is Christopher? b) The turning point in the book, right in the middle: about his mums death.
