ENGLIT 1247 Mondays and Wednesdays 4:30 5:45pm August Wilson is a great American dramatist whose epic 10-play Pittsburgh Cycle dramatizes with comedy and tragedy a centurys worth of achievement and despair. Its a vivid microcosm of American life, with all but one play set in the Hill District, where Wilson himself (19452005) spent his first 33 years. Taught by Christopher Rawson, who as Post-Gazette theater critic knew Wilson well.
