1. After reading Shens passage, I learned a few new facts that I found very interesting.

The major concept that I learned after reading the paper is that every culture is taught a different way to think and write so whether it is a teacher or another student, we should all be understanding of other cultures differences. One thing that I found interesting was that in China people were taught to use we instead of I. This was because using I would portray to others as being disrespectful to the communist party in political writings and boastful in scholarly writings. In China I has often been identified as a negative word. Many critics in China believe that yijing is a creative process of inducing oneself, while reading a piece of literature or looking at a picture, to create mental pictures. 2.
