My first day on EWF Stirrup elementary school was Thursday October 11, 2012.

My cooperating teacher was Mrs. Maria Elena Fernandez. She is the head of the Foreign Language Department and also she teaches kids in the reading intervention program.
Since she only teaches electives, I had the amazing opportunity to observe different types of behaviors, learning styles and characteristics of every student in her classroom. I had the chance to observe students from 2th grade, 4th grade and 5th grade.

During my very first day of observation, I had the tremendous chance to help Ms. Fernandez. She aware me of how some kids were faster than others at taking notes from the board. At that moment, the 3rd grade students arrived to Mrs. Fernandez class and they all started to take notes but I noticed that one particular student seemed to be having problems. He kept looking around his classmates and certainly not focusing on writing. I offered my help to him with the teachers approval. Patiently, I spelled to him word buy word. He finished all his notes correctly and on time.

On my third visit to EWF Stirrup Elementary, I was very honored to be part of the Hispanic Heritage Day. I never imagined that on this day I was going to learn more than in any other day. I enjoyed it a lot because I was able to
help, observe, and learn from the students, the teachers and the parents. I helped the girls who were participating to memorize the answers for the contest. I even worked with the art teacher to decorate a satin ribbon for the winner and to beautifully do 10 bouquet of roses for the judges and for the first, second and third runner up.

Reflection
My overall experience at EWF Stirrup Elementary was very enrichful. I learned a lot of skills that I will use and put into practice in my path as a future educator. Being part of this elementary school made me confirm that I have chosen the right profession for me. Since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to impact and make a difference in the lives of many people and I have seen that through this career you can do so.
