In 1959, Japanese Honda Company set up USA. 2.2 THE ANALYSIS OF EXTERNAL OPPORTUNITIES AND THREATS

When the managers face the opportunities and threats existed in external environment, they must analyze their business competitiveness in the industry's environment. Michael E. Porter in Harvard Business School of Management developed a framework of five competitive forces model to help managers analyze opportunities and threats in external environment.

Porter's model focused on five strengths forming competition in an industry, the strength stronger, that is to say the threat to businesses greater, because it will depress the profits of enterprises.
