2012-13 Madison Church Basketball Association Rules

All games will be played under IHSAA rules with the following exceptions 1. All players must be affiliated with a church to play. No more than two churches can combine to form a team. Players must attend at least 2 church functions per month to be eligible to play. Team reps are responsible for making sure players are eligible 2. College students who regularly attend church are eligible to participate 3. Players must be at least 14 years of age to play 4. Once a player plays for a team, he/she cannot move to another team (multi-team player is prohibited) 5. Game nights will be Mondays @ the Brown Gym Game times TBD 6. Teams must have similar shirts by the second game of the season 7. Line-ups must be at the scorers table prior to scheduled start time 8. You must have at least 4 ELIGIBLE players present at game time to play 9. NO GRACE PERIOD! All games will start at their designated time unless a prior game or games run over 10. In case of a forfeit, the teams involved will have use of the floor until ten minutes prior to the start of the next game 11. Warm up time will be limited. Use side goals if and when they are available 12. Games will consist of 18 minutes halves with a three minute halftime. Overtimes will be two minutes in length 13. Each team will have two time-outs per game and one per overtime. Time-outs do not carryover 14. A running clock will be used. The clock will stop on every whistle during the last two minutes of the game and during the last minute of the overtime. 15. The home team will be the first team listed on the schedule and will have the opening prayer. The visiting team will offer up the prayer at the end of the game 16. During free throws, rebounders must wait until the ball hits the rim to rebound 17. PROFANITY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. It will be an automatic technical foul and an ejection 18. Any player receiving two technical fouls and/or ejections should first re-examine the reason he/she is participating and second must sit out for the rest of the season including the tournament 19. For a player to be eligible for tournament play, he/she must have played in at least half of the games during the season 20. Depending on the number of teams, we will have either a single or double elimination seeded tournament at the end of the season 21. A REMINDER TO LEAGUE MEMBERS: This Church Basketball League has been organized to provide an opportunity for area churches to minister thru basketball and fellowship with other Christians. We have a great working relationship with the Parks Department. As we play, we should remember that we are representing Jesus as well as our churches and ourselves. Certain behavior will not be accepted. Lets make sure the spirit of competition does not take away from the Holy Spirit
